NEW MUSLIM SUPPORTKuraby Masjid has teamed up with the Brisbane Muslim Fellowship (BMF). BMF was formed in Brisbane in 2017 to provide a support network for Muslim converts that includes mentoring, education, and guidance to ensure they have the essential knowledge and practices required for their spiritual well-being and to fit confidently in the wider community.

INTERFAITH DIALOGUEOne of the key aspects of the Mosque in relation to engagement with the wide community is interfaith dialogue. Our local Imam and some community members have attended a number of interfaith functions over the last decade. After the Sri Lankan bombings in 2019, members of the Mosque attended a vigil at the Cathedral of Saint Stephens in Brisbane City and arranged a, meet and greet tea, with a local Church group which went really well.
The Mosque has hosted a number of inter faith groups and will continue to do so in the future as we aspire to build bridges of understanding amongst our brothers and sisters of all faiths. |

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION TOURSKuraby Masjid conducts regular tours of the Mosque for schools, other faith groups or inquisitive individuals. On average, each year the Mosque welcomes between 200 to 400 students from various schools for a tour of the Mosque. Some of the activities will include a walk through the Mosque with an overview and practical examples of the various rituals that occur in the ablution area and the prayer areas. We provide a history of Kuraby Masjid and a general overview of Islam, followed by questions and answers about the faith in general.
The Mosque also participates in the country wide open days. The open day is an opportunity for anyone of any faith or belief to visit the Mosque, get to know a bit about the faith and most importantly interact with the local community and make new friends. |
